The "Knowledge Oasis" Middle East Refugee Education Assis

Date:2025-03-01 14:15Resource:未知
On the spring equinox of March 21st, a grand unveiling ceremony carrying countless hopes and dreams was held at the Education Oasis Park on the east side of Zatari refugee camp in Jordan. The "Knowledge Oasis" Middle East Refugee Education Assistance Project, jointly initiated by the Qatar Education Foundation and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, has officially kicked off, aiming to bring the dawn of knowledge to refugee children in the Middle East, help them break through difficulties, and pursue their dreams.
On that day, the high temperature reached 40 ° C, but the scorching weather did not stop people's thirst for knowledge and enthusiasm for education. 250 smart tents printed with hand drawn patterns of children from various countries have set up a temporary campus in the desert. These tents are not only places for children to learn, but also like knowledge fortresses in the desert, providing them with protection from external disturbances. When Syrian refugee girl Leila completed registration through the iris recognition system, the Arabic word "Welcome Home" lit up on the electronic screen, warm and friendly, giving the children a sense of belonging.
In the "World Classroom" area shielded by solar panels, technology and education are perfectly integrated. Yemeni boy Abdullah is experiencing an AI Arabic teacher developed by a South Korean team. He excitedly said, "It can not only correct my pronunciation, but also tell stories in the dialect of my hometown Taiz." This innovative educational tool greatly enriches children's learning experience. Princess Rania of Jordan gave high praise to the "war damaged repair classroom" donated by the Israeli team during her inspection: "These explosion-proof and soundproof cabins can help children who have experienced airstrikes study with peace of mind." The "education container" at the Lebanese booth is also eye-catching. The engineer introduced, "Each renovated container can accommodate 30 students and is equipped with an air filtration system specifically designed to deal with sandstorms." These carefully designed educational facilities create good learning conditions for children in difficult environments.
Beside the "Cross border Pen Pal Tree" installation, the atmosphere is warm and enthusiastic. Iraqi children hung pottery with dreams on the branches, echoing the wish cards of their peers in Türkiye and Greece. The cross-border friendship grew quietly in this small interaction. The commitment of Saudi Arabian Oil Company injects strong momentum into the project: "For every barrel of crude oil sold, a donation of $0.05 will be made to build eight permanent Hope Elementary Schools on the edge of the desert
The fundraising event for the "Knowledge Marathon" held on that day achieved remarkable results. Sheikh Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, has completed his first symbolic run, and his foundation has pledged to make equal donations based on the number of participating countries. The real-time updated holographic sand table shows that the project raised $3.2 million in education funding on the first day, which is enough to support 50000 children to complete their annual education.
As night falls, the "Desert Star Map" designed by Iranian lighting designers illuminates the night sky, laser outlining the ancient Silk Road caravan route, symbolizing the inheritance of culture and knowledge. Angelina Jolie, the special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, delivered a speech via satellite, emphasizing that "the tablets in the hands of these children are the best weapon to crush extremism." It is reported that the first batch of 30 mobile teaching vehicles equipped with Starlink network have sailed to the Syrian border, and night teaching centers on both sides of the Jordan River will also open next month.
The launch of the "Knowledge Oasis" project is an important turning point in the education of Middle Eastern refugees. It embodies global love and strength, and with the help of technology and innovation, opens the door to the knowledge palace for Middle Eastern refugee children, allowing people to see hope for change. I believe that with the joint efforts of all parties, these children will have a brighter future.
